In-ground pool with wide bluestone coping and a paver pool deck

Pools / Mid-Cape

Pool deck, coping and plumbing coordination

A pool surround rebuilt from the trenches up: piping pressure-checked and backfilled first, then a paver deck pitched away from the coping.

Project scope

  • Removal of a failing pool surround surface
  • Pool piping runs to the equipment location
  • Wide bluestone coping at the pool edge
  • Paver pool deck with perimeter drainage

Site considerations

  • Everything below the deck had to be finished and verified before the surface went down, because cutting into a finished pool deck later is the expensive outcome.
  • The surface is walked on barefoot and stays wet, so texture and joint layout mattered as much as the base.

Work completed

  • Suction and return lines were routed, supported and pressure-checked with the trenches still open, then backfilled and compacted.
  • Coping was set first to establish the finished edge, with pitch running away from the pool on every side.
  • The paver field was laid to the coping with a soldier course, and perimeter drainage was tied in before final compaction.
